The AfCFTA trade agreement launch aligns seamlessly with Defy’s vision of expanding its presence and market share in the Sub-Saharan region. This milestone represents a crucial step towards the progressive elimination of tariffs and non-tariff barriers to trade in goods, fostering cooperation on all trade-related fronts.
The ceremony, attended by Cabinet Ministers of the Republic of South Africa and Trade Ministers from various countries, including Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Egypt, eSwatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, and Tunisia, emphasized the collaborative spirit of this groundbreaking initiative.
Defy Appliances sees the AfCFTA as a gateway to expanding export opportunities into Central Africa, East Africa, and West Africa. During the ceremony, the company had the privilege of showcasing its flagship product, the chest freezer, proudly manufactured in the Ladysmith Refrigeration factory. These high-quality appliances have been successfully exported to Kenya and other key markets across the continent.
